Provide survivor and child-centered case management services, including safety planning, psychosocial support, and referrals to appropriate services such as healthcare, legal aid, shelter, and, where applicable, child protection services.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of survivors’ needs and develop individualized case action plans in collaboration with them, ensuring the best interests of the child are considered when the survivor is a child or when children are affected.
Ensure confidentiality, informed consent, and ethical data management in line with GBV and child protection guiding principles and child protection minimum standards.
Maintain accurate case documentation and records using the GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS) and other approved tools, including those for child protection where relevant.
Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure all survivors—including women, girls, boys, and men—receive the necessary support and that case plans are adjusted as needed.
Oversee and coordinate the entire case management process, ensuring smooth collaboration among health providers, psychologists, legal aid services, social workers, and child protection officers when relevant.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to GBV case workers, child protection staff, psychosocial support personnel, and healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to survivor-centered and age-appropriate approaches.
Facilitate multidisciplinary case conferences, ensuring that all service providers work together effectively while upholding survivor safety, confidentiality, and dignity, including those of children.
Ensure timely and effective referrals to medical, psychological, legal, shelter, and child protection services, and conduct follow-up to address any service gaps.
Support healthcare providers in delivering the Clinical Management of Rape (CMR) and other post-GBV medical services in line with international protocols.
Work closely with mental health professionals to ensure survivors—including children and adolescents—receive appropriate psychological first aid (PFA), trauma-informed care, and ongoing counseling support.
Develop and oversee standard operating procedures (SOPs) for case management that align with both GBV and child protection standards and best practices.
Facilitate capacity-building training for GBV and child protection case workers, psychosocial staff, and healthcare providers on trauma-informed care, case management, and survivor-centered approaches.
Advocate for system and policy improvements within health, psychosocial, legal, and protection services to enhance access to quality care for all survivors, including children.
Participate in coordination meetings focused on GBV and child protection with government entities, NGOs, and service providers to strengthen multi-sectoral responses.
Identify trends, gaps, and challenges in case management and service delivery across GBV and child protection and report findings to program leadership for strategic decision-making and advocacy.
