Job Description
The Climate Change Adaptation Officer will perform the following:
Support the implementation of climate adaptation measures across various ADPC projects, providing technical expertise on integrating adaptation strategies into disaster risk management frameworks and policies.
Assist national counterparts and project teams for implementing adaptation policies, plans, and reforms, including Local Adaptation Plans of Action (LAPA) under key projects.
Collaborate with the ADPC Academy to design and deliver training programs and workshops on climate change adaptation, resilience-building, and sustainable development practices.
Develop key knowledge products, such as research papers, case studies, policy briefs, and analysis reports on climate adaptation strategies, systems, and practices to enhance understanding and inform project implementation.
Coordinate and facilitate discussions with government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders to promote adaptation planning and implementation, particularly in sectors vulnerable to climate impacts.
Contribute to preparing adaptation-focused concept notes, project proposals, and other documentation to mobilize resources and foster investments in climate resilience.
Assist in implementing climate adaptation activities under ADPC projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timely delivery of outputs.
Develop and prepare materials for project reporting and monitoring, focusing on the effectiveness and sustainability of implemented adaptation measures.
Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the Director of Risk Governance and Financing.
